John Dyett Co-Founder and Managing Director
Mr. Dyett is a Founder of Salem Partners and heads the firm's efforts in the Life Sciences industries. He has raised in excess of $150 million of private equity and completed multiple merger and acquisition assignments for Salem Partners' clients. Mr. Dyett was the lead banker for Salem's multiple transactions for Adams Respiratory Therapeutics, Lombardi Software, ClearOrbit and Quinnova Pharmaceuticals. Prior to founding Salem Partners, Mr. Dyett was a banker with Gerard Klauer Mattison & Co., Inc. and Needham and Co., Inc. Mr. Dyett is a graduate of Harvard College.

Stephen Prough Co-Founder and Managing Director
Mr. Prough is a Founder of Salem Partners, where he has worked since 1997 in mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Prough has advised companies and individuals such as Hearst, Quincy Jones, Mark Cuban, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in transactions with a total value exceeding $1 billion. Prior to founding Salem Partners, Mr. Prough was a Vice President in the Media and Communications Investment Banking Group of Furman Selz LLC. At Furman Selz, Mr. Prough advised major media companies such as Time Warner, Sony and New Line Cinema. Mr. Prough is a graduate of Harvard College, where he majored in Government and was a Harvard Scholar.

James Mullany Managing Director
Mr. Mullany is responsible for Salem Partners' valuation advisory business in addition to his role as a senior media banker. Mr. Mullany has completed multiple advisory assignments for Salem Partners clients, including Morgan Creek Productions, Crown Holdings, Capitol Films, Nelvana, Hannover Leasing GmbH, and Mike Young Productions, among many others. He also provided expert witness testimony in the Stephen Bochco vs. 20th Century Fox litigation. Prior to joining Salem Partners, Mr. Mullany was a Senior Vice President in the Entertainment and Media Services Group of Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin in Century City, CA. While there he was a member of the team that worked on assignments for many of the major studios and a large number of independent companies in the filmed entertainment business. Prior to working with Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Mullany was a senior executive for Think Entertainment, a television production company partnership between Shelley Duvall and TeleCommunications, Inc., United Artists Communications Inc. and Newhouse Broadcasting. Previous to Think Entertainment, Mr. Mullany was a Vice President for the Entertainment Industries Group of Wells Fargo Bank, Beverly Hills, CA, where he headed a team of lenders involved in the independent sector of the television and film industry. Prior to Wells Fargo, Mr. Mullany was a Vice President at Union Bank and Senior Account Officer at Citibank.  | Roger Zickfeld Managing Director Roger Zickfeld focuses on the life sciences and medical device industries for Salem Partners. His career includes more than 25 years of experience as an investment banker, life sciences corporate executive, and management consultant. Prior to Salem, Mr. Zickfeld was a managing director at B. Riley & Co. where he focused on healthcare corporate finance and M&A. Previously he was a top executive with Karl Storz Endoscopy, the global medical devices firm, where he had broad managerial and P&L responsibility. Mr. Zickfeld was President of the company's renal lithotripsy division and CFO of the overall US operations. He was also President of the company's captive finance subsidiary, and a senior executive of the company's major distribution entities and fiber optics manufacturing facility. In addition to medical device operating experience, Mr. Zickfeld was the CEO of a life sciences start-up, Gene Connections. Mr. Zickfeld was a management consultant for five years in KPMG’s corporate strategy and corporate finance practices, and previously spent several years with Ernst & Young. Mr. Zickfeld graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a BS, and earned an MBA from UCLA. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and a board member of Ikona Medical, Inc. He is a former board member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.

Brendan Houlihan Vice President
Mr. Houlihan joined Salem Partners in February 2003. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Houlihan was an Associate in the Mergers and Acquisitions practice of Credit Suisse First Boston in San Francisco. Prior to working with Credit Suisse First Boston, Mr. Houlihan was an Analyst in the Technology Investment Banking practice at Warburg Dillon Read in San Francisco. Mr. Houlihan has directly participated in over 15 completed M&A transactions and financings for clients including Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner, Informix Software and Nortel Networks as well as a wide variety of consulting, valuation and strategic advisory assignments within the media and entertainment industry. Mr. Houlihan is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.

 | Caleb Smith Associate Mr. Smith joined Salem Partners in 2007 and is focused on sourcing, evaluating and structuring investments in the technology and life sciences sectors. Before joining Salem, Mr. Smith spent four years with Harvey & Company, an Orange County-based merchant bank. While at Harvey, Mr. Smith sourced and evaluated deals for middle-market private equity funds and strategic buyers. Mr. Smith directly participated in the leveraged recapitalizations of Coldmatic Products International, TMI LLC and Grafton-Fraser, Inc. Prior to Harvey & Company, he was a consultant with Public Health Foundation Enterprises in Los Angeles. Mr. Smith graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California.

 | Maria Testani Associate Ms. Testani joined Salem Partners in October 2006. Prior to joining Salem, Ms. Testani was an Investment Banking Analyst for Wachovia Securities' Global Real Estate, Gaming and Lodging Group in Los Angeles, California. Prior to Wachovia Securities, Ms. Testani was an Investment Banking Analyst at Citigroup Global Markets, Inc. in New York. While at Citigroup, Ms. Testani focused on providing strategic advisory and capital raising services to companies within the Energy industry, particularly companies structured as Master Limited Partnerships. Ms. Testani graduated summa cum laude from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business where she received a B.S. in Finance and Accounting.

 | William Lo Analyst Mr. Lo joined Salem Partners in the summer of 2007. Prior to joining Salem, he worked at Infinity Financial, a full-service boutique broker/dealer firm in Oakland, California as an Equity Research Intern where he was responsible for overseeing $35M in aggregate AUM. Prior to his experience at Infinity Financial, Mr. Lo was as an Intern Associate for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Mr. Lo graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007 with a B.S. in Business Administration from Walter A. Haas School of Business. |
 | Erik Einwalter Analyst Mr. Einwalter joined Salem Partners in April 2008. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a consultant at Navigant Consulting, Inc. Mr. Einwalter’s work there included the financial analysis of litigation claims and commercial real estate due diligence and transaction support. Prior to his experience at Navigant Consulting, Mr. Einwalter worked as an intern at Marcus & Millichap, a commercial real estate investment services firm. Mr. Einwalter is a graduate from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Business & Finance. |
